In February this year, TRAI introduced a fresh framework for all DTH and cable operators. According to this new framework, it is now mandatory for users to select individual channels or packages according to their choice. That means you will now have to pay only for the channels you want to watch. To make this process simple and quick, DTH service providers like Tata Sky have come up with different features to modify existing channel packs.
For instance, if you have selected channels, but have missed out on one particular channel, you can now add them easily anytime. Similarly, if you want to remove any particular channel, you can do it as well. Tata Sky recharge offers 4 different ways to modify channels on your DTH connection. You can call the customer care service executive, send an SMS, use your Android app, or directly go to the web portal.
Tata Sky is known for giving its customers a simple way of adding channel packs if they want to customize their existing packs. This feature by Tata Sky is unique and very few DTH providers offer such a feature to its user. Here’s how to add new channels to your Tata Sky pack. Users need to follow the below steps:
- Step 1: Visit the tatasky.com/wps/portal website. Now, tap on the Select Pack option. Next, you need to enter your registered mobile number or your unique subscriber ID.
- Step 2: Here, you’ll receive one OTP on your mobile number. You have to enter that OTP and a new window will pop up. Here, you will get two options Balance and Charges with a button to recharge your account. On the right, you will another box called Your Pack with a button to modify the pack.
- On the Your Pack box, click on view to reveal all the channels that you are using currently. If you want to modify your pack, simply click on this link on the box, this will redirect you to the next page where you can modify your channels and packs.
- Step 4: To add any channel from the existing list, you simply need to check the box beside that channel name and tap on the select and proceed button. The next screen will show all the channels that you have dropped/added, and if it’s right, just click on the confirm button to proceed. A confirmation message appears on the screen, and a new channel will get activated in just a few minutes.
As mentioned earlier, the other easiest way to remove or add channels to your Tata Sky DTH is to call the customer care service from your registered mobile number and ask the customer care executive about the packs you want to remove or add, and they will do it for you after confirming few details.
You can also add/remove channels on your Tata Sky using the iOS or Android app, the process is very much similar to the web portal. Lastly, Tata Sky even allows you to send SMS and modify packs. For example, if you do not have a Zee Cinema channel in your pack, you will see a message on the TV screen, something like ADD ZEECinema. You need to send SMS from a registered mobile number to the given Tata Sky number. You get a confirmation message for the same and your pack is updated instantly.
